frequently asked questions

questions about this ointment

Yes, zinc oxide is one of the most commonly used ingredients in baby care and is well tolerated. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin. For persistent redness that does not improve after a few days, consult a pediatrician or midwife.
On a minor superficial scrape with intact skin edges: yes. On a deeper, bleeding or open wound: no — let such a wound heal first under the guidance of a doctor or pharmacist.
A conscious choice. For a care product applied to sensitive skin or diaper areas, we believe it's more important to use proven safe building blocks than an unnecessary amount of ingredients. The fewer, the less chance of a reaction.
