L-Cystine (or cysteine) is a sulfur-containing amino acid — a building block of proteins. 2000 mg per daily dose is a common reference dosage in this type of formula. We consciously state it with the standardized amount instead of vague wording — so you know exactly what you're getting.
An honest answer: with a balanced diet (sufficient protein, vegetables, fruit, dairy), most people get enough biotin, zinc and B-vitamins.
